CTC: Learn about 13 Govs Biz Plan finalists from CTC/SBDC for 2021

SBDC logoTwenty-five entries representing innovations in products and services in sectors as broad as health, cleantech, education and more are competing in the finalist round of the 18th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest. More than half of them are names familiar to our team!

Businesses that have worked with the Center for Technology Commercialization (CTC), Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network or both:

  • Atrility Medical of Madison, working to bring cardiac medical devices to market by integrating healthcare, business and engineering specialists
  • Compost Crusader of St. Francis, empowering individuals and organizations to divert organic material from the landfill in an economically and environmentally sustainable way (see their success story, too)
  • Dispatch Coach Training Center of West Allis, providing programs to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of dispatch centers
  • eCourt Reporters of Burlington, providing attorneys direct access to court reporter and legal videographer services in any location across the United States
  • Estrigenix Therapeutics of Milwaukee, striving to improve women’s health through estrogen research and product development
  • Gud Medical of Madison, striving to be a leader in precisely delivering medicine and intravenous fluids
  • Intuitive Analytics of Stevens Point, developing software and threat intelligence solutions to detect fraud, waste, abuse and other security threats to businesses
  • Nurse Disrupted of Fitchburg, bridging the digital divide in health care through simple, cost-effective technologies for resource deserts
  • Rapid Radicals Technology of Milwaukee, applying innovative high-rate wastewater treatment technology to address sewer overflows and wider applications for municipalities and industries (see their success story, too)
  • Red Cell Source of Pewaukee, developing a multi-functional power conversion solution with high frequency and bandwidth to support power hardware in loop simulation and to achieve compact low-cost energy-efficient power systems in aircraft/shipboard/micro grid applications
  • ReNeuroGen of Elm Grove, developing systems pharmacology therapies with a focus on neurological and pulmonary disease indications
  • RoddyMedical of Wauwatosa, designing innovative medical devices to improve clinical and patient safety (see a summary of their presentation to a UW System Board of Regents committee)
  • Universal Real Time Power Conversion of New Berlin, is developing a multi-functional power conversion solution with high frequency and bandwidth to support power hardware in loop simulation and to achieve compact low-cost energy-efficient power systems in aircraft/shipboard/micro grid applications.

What’s next? Finalists will submit 15- to 20-page business plans for review by a panel of more than 80 judges. In May, the “Diligent Dozen,” aka the top 12, will be chosen. In June, they will present at the Wisconsin Entrepreneurs’ Conference, where winners will be announced.
