28 Aug Wisconsin State Journal: Middleton company trying to make your phone operate faster wins Madison Pressure Chamber competition
A Middleton company working on technology that could make smart phones more powerful and enable computers to run faster has won a prestigious local business competition.
The Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce has named SixLine Semiconductor the winner of the 11th annual Pressure Chamber live pitch competition. SixLine competed against five other Madison area companies and was chosen Aug. 20 by a combination of votes from national investor judges and those in a live audience at the Majestic Theatre.
SixLine focuses on commercializing carbon nanotube arrays for semiconductor applications and has patented technologies designed to overcome a 30-year challenge of producing technology for semiconductors that are stronger and more cost effective. By commercializing carbon nanotube technology, the company says it is trying to extend Moore’s Law, which says the number of transistors in an integrated circuit doubles about every two years.
